Living Our Faith

During Advent, we prepare our hearts and minds for the birth of Jesus in different ways. In our service to others, we had a collection of Christmas treats for a local food bank. We also do this because it allows us to live out the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Preferential Option For The Poor. From this we learn that Jesus always put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first, and so should we.
Year 1 helped us to celebrate the harvest God gives us. The generous food donations from our families and staff were blessed by Fr. David and collected by representatives from our parish St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP). The SVP will use the food offerings to make food parcels, which will be shared with people in need in our parish community.
As part of our celebration of the Jubilee Year, the children were asked to design a Holy Door to represent the theme Pilgrims of Hope. The children were asked to show how they could help someone in need and share God's love.
These are some examples of their work on display in our Church.
